This website automatically uses cookie-free anonymous aggregate analytics. No visitor action is required and no individual visitor profile is created.
Analytics collected
We aggregate by day: page path, page language, source category, referring domain, country code, broad device, browser and operating-system families, viewport and connection bands, active-time bands, scroll milestones, sections reached, button and link clicks, and performance bands.
Data expressly not retained
The analytics database does not retain raw IP addresses, complete User-Agent strings, browser fingerprints, precise location, coordinates, persistent visitor or session identifiers, cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, complete referring URLs, raw UTM values, raw share_id values, form contents, email contents, passwords or keystrokes. Original URL query values are removed from the address after page load and discarded before storage; UTM and share_id are reduced to anonymous categories such as tagged link or shared link, which may be carried to the next internal page.
Purposes
Anonymous aggregates help us understand page volume, reading quality, broad sharing channels, section and button performance, and the performance of the Chinese and English site. They cannot be used to identify, contact or track an individual visitor.
Cloudflare
The site uses Cloudflare's global network, cookie-free Web Analytics and D1. Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies or browser storage and discards request IP addresses at the nearest Cloudflare data centre. Our D1 database receives only daily anonymous aggregate rows and has its primary region in Asia Pacific.
Retention and security
Daily anonymous aggregates are retained for up to 365 days and then deleted automatically. The dashboard has separate authentication and is limited to authorised personnel. Data is transmitted over HTTPS.
Browser privacy signals
If the browser enables Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, our custom section, scroll and button analytics stops. The site sets no analytics cookie and requires no visitor action.
